While the frost sets outside and the last of the autumn leaves fall, at Anther Flowers we’re as evergreen as always.

Considering the supermarkets have been playing Christmas songs for weeks already, it feels like we’re late to the party.

Pour yourself a mulled wine (or eggnog if you’re that way inclined) and find out 8 ways we think you can make this Christmas your best yet.

1. Up Your Advent Calendar Game

Why settle for an advent calendar with just chocolate inside?

Christmas is all about splashing out and going that extra mile.

Did you know you can get cheese, beer and beauty product advent calendars?

Well, you do now.

2. Sing Whenever You Want

Casually breaking into song at your desk at work for no reason would usually raise eyebrows, but during December it’s absolutely fine!

Even if someone doesn’t really like it, they won’t say anything (because nobody wants to be a Scrooge do they?).

So, if you want to, go for it!

3. Get Festive at One of Scotland’s Many Christmas Events

Although we love a good excuse to be a hermit during the winter months, staying in is made all the sweeter by going out now and again.

Our favourite things to do include the Christmas markets in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Glasgow on Ice and Stirling’s Hogmanay.

4. Indulge. Indulge. Indulge.

Get your favourite cheeses in.

Splurge on a bottle of your favourite tipple.

Buy a bouquet of your favourite flowers.

Do more of what makes you happy.

5. Make the Most of Your Children Behaving

You’ll remember the horror that surged through your body when you were told you were on Santa’s naughty list – am I right?

Well, now you’re a ‘grown up’ there’s no better time to flex the age-old festive threat than now.

If you’re extra smart (or mean) did you know you can buy Santa & Elf CCTV cameras that look like they’re watching out to see which children deserves the best presents?

Genius.

6. Give Something Back

Have you ever thought about volunteering?

We don’t mean to preach here; no, we’re just letting you know that there’s plenty of local events you can get involved in over the Christmas period.

Take a look at the crisis website for more information if you’re interested.

7. Really Think About Gifts

We’re lucky: we get to see people’s faces light up every day whilst we’re out delivering our bouquets. But at Christmas you get to enjoy this too!

Nobody really wants a Lynx Africa set, so think about their hobbies and do some quick research on Amazon for related products of things they’d buy for themselves.

How about giving the gift of fresh, seasonal flowers every month with our easy to set up flower subscription service?

It’s up to you how often you send them and for how long.

You’re in full control the whole time, too – should they suddenly make it onto your naughty list.

8. Decorate Your House

We mean really decorate. Love a bit of tacky tinsel? Or are you more the colour theme approach?

Whatever your style, we guarantee one of our Christmas bouquets will get you even more in the Christmas spirt.

During December, we’re out delivery 7 days a week, up to 5 pm on Christmas Eve and still delivery is completely FREE.
